Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska – Omaha Public Power District’s Ft. Calhoun Station (FCS) has successfully implemented The Insert Key Solutions (IKS) Equipment Reliability Automation Software product, IQreviewTM.   The software implementation is in support of the FCS Equipment Reliability Optimization Project (EROP) that was kicked off in January 2006. 

FCS’ EROP is designed to integrate cost-effective equipment maintenance strategies with existing work management processes to achieve excellence in equipment reliability.  Objectives of the effort include achieving and sustaining high equipment reliability, optimizing equipment maintenance strategies for cost effective operation, reducing the effort required to maintain equipment reliability program, and become recognized as an industry leader in the area of equipment reliability.

IQreviewTM is a web-based software tool that facilitates Maintenance Optimization and creates a “Living Maintenance Basis” for an organization. The software contains modules for Preventive Maintenance (PM) Template management, Asset Classification, Functional Equipment Group (FEG) management, and the Maintenance Optimization process.  Maintenance Optimization is the application of the PM Templates based on Asset Classification (Nuclear Criticality, Production Criticality, and Other Criticality) and the review of actual PMs and the current maintenance practice. The result is an equipment-based Maintenance Strategy.

IQReview™ in the Utility Industry
IQreviewTM has been implemented in both fossil and nuclear power plants to electronically manage the process of developing and maintaining PM Templates, managing Functional Equipment Groups, performing component classification, and creating and sustaining Maintenance Optimization Programs.
