Luminant Energy successfully deploys MRule Manager at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power plant.

Glen Rose, Texas In an effort to upgrade their Maintenance Rule program at Comanche Peak Luminant has worked with Insert Key Solutions (IKS) to implement their commercial software, MRule Manager TM.   MRule Manager TM will help facilitate the Maintenance Rule program at Comanche Peak by increasing the visibility of Maintenance Rule-related information.  The tool provides easy access for system engineers to validate failures and unavailability hours against their maintenance rule-related systems.  The tool will give them real-time feedback as to what performance criteria are exceeded or in alert.  It will also provide Luminant a central location for tracking (a)(1) Goal records, Function scoping information and Expert Panel meeting minutes and decisions.

About MRule Manager

MRule Manager TM is a web-based software application designed to facilitate the management of a Maintenance Rule Program.  It has been designed to satisfy legal requirements described in 10 CFR 50.65 and the implementation guideline published by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) NUMARC 93-01 Revision 4.  It is also designed to address the INPO guideline for Equipment Reliability, AP-913, and to integrate with applications supporting System Health, the Maintenance Basis, etc.  Additionally, IKS has built a tool that provides other benefits such as the ability to support a site or fleet of sites in a single instance to share data through a web-based interface and to produce performance indicators to measure results and effectiveness of the program.
