Exelon Power rolls out SystemIQ
In August 2008, Exelon Power rolled out SystemIQ with a fully automated system health scorecard.

This scorecard monitors and reports the health of the functional systems on its steam generating, hydro, and combustion turbine units. The scorecards are rolled up to provide a unit, facility and fleet level overview of system health. The application provides easy drill down capability into underperforming or critical systems.

In order to fully automate this health overview, SystemIQ pulls a variety of data from the maintenance management system, the commercial availability tracker, the component health monitoring application, and the environmental management information system. The data is turned into a score, a trend, and a status through objective algorithms; easy drill down functionality supports a review of detailed data where necessary.

The system health data is refreshed on a daily basis to provide users with up-to-date health information. The health reports are saved on a bi-monthly interval to provide long term system health trending data and historic data reference.

In addition to monitoring system health SystemIQ allows the Exelon system managers to build action plans, create walkdown/inspection routes, and maintain an electronic system notebook.

The one-stop-shop system health management tool has been welcomed by the various sites as an efficient monitoring tool that will help the system managers focus on addressing identified equipment reliability problems rather than on collecting data to find and report on potential issues.
